The first game of the 2013/14 preseason saw Sheffield Wednesday bring a team to Edgeley Park, as both clubs celebrated the illustrious career of former Wednesday and County player and long term County physio, Rodger Wylde. The first half saw some familiar faces as a team of County 'legends' took to the field. They were unable to contain the Championship side and went in at half time 3-0 down, however it was great to see some old favourites. In the second half County's part assembled Conference North side, bolstered with a few trialists, and showcasing the new retro away kit, gained a creditable 0-0 draw over the 45 mins.

A game in which County were probably unlucky to lose. Finished 3-1 to Mansfield, but the result became meaningless due to the sacking of Jim Gannon after the game. A very unpopular move by the board.
