Jim Gannon Returns (A) 19th January 2016

For the first time in a very long time, I was inspired to get the camera out and take it to a game. The return of Gannon for his third stint at the helm of Stockport County, has caused a palpable air of excitement around the club, unlike anything experienced since his last departure.

Less than 24 hours after his appointment, Jim was back in action with County away at Congleton in The Cheshire Senior Cup. By an immense stroke of luck, I live but 5 minutes walk from the ground. I went to witness 'the third coming'  and see the team run out 2-0 winners.

It was great to see Jim back in charge and to stand near the dugout and experience first hand just how knowledgable he is about the game.

The first game of the 2013/14 preseason saw Sheffield Wednesday bring a team to Edgeley Park, as both clubs celebrated the illustrious career of former Wednesday and County player and long term County physio, Rodger Wylde. The first half saw some familiar faces as a team of County 'legends' took to the field. They were unable to contain the Championship side and went in at half time 3-0 down, however it was great to see some old favourites. In the second half County's part assembled Conference North side, bolstered with a few trialists, and showcasing the new retro away kit, gained a creditable 0-0 draw over the 45 mins.
